Spread some cheer—get some cheer
A night of hilarious comedy is on tap for Saturday, November 19 at Batavia’s VFW Post in support of the ACCESS Christmas Toy Distribution program. Doors will open at 7pm and the show of professional comedy will kick-off at 8:30. Hosted by Batavian Dottie Fletcher, all proceeds will go to the ACCESS Toy program which last year provided Christmas support to over 600 local families.
The night will feature legendary impressionist Bob Jay, whose act “999 Voices,” was voted the best impressionist routine in Las Vegas. Jay’s comedy performance will feature the voices of many of your favorite celebrities from his “Voices in my Head Tour.” Also adding to the flow of comedy will be Michelle Krajecki, host of the Comedy Minute, 95.9 on The River. Taking mundane things in life and turning them into laugh-till-you-cry funny routines, Michelle was a 2010 Clean Comedy Challenge Finalist.
Seeking to add to the inventory of Christmas toys in what is expected to be a record year of requests for help from needy families; ACCESS volunteers will be on hand to accept any new toys which attendees may wish to donate. The night will also feature a 50/50 benefit raffle event and a silent auction.
Batavia residents are encouraged to support one of the most successful and rewarding public service projects held in Batavia each Christmas season by the ACCESS Committee.
Admission tickets for the event can be purchased at the door of the VFW Hanger building on show night for a price of $10 each. The ACCESS Committee in making a public announcement about the show expressed their thanks to Dottie Fletcher for her generous commitment in bringing this performance to town. A local resident with strong connections into the comedy scene at a national level, Dottie’s insightful professional links promise to provide residents with a genuine comedy experience direct from the stages of Las Vegas.
The Batavia VFW Post is located at 645 S. River St. on the city’s southeast side. Please plan to attend and support one of the most beloved Christmas traditions in our town.
